Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) is an annual awareness campaign that takes place each October.
The purpose of Disability Employment Awareness Month is to promote employment inclusion for people with disabilities and celebrate the many and varied contributions of workers with disabilities. NDEAM (a federal initiative celebrated in the U.S. every October since 1945), is gaining traction in Canada with a number of provinces proclaiming October as Disability Employment Month, including Alberta.
We want to spread the important message that a strong workforce is one inclusive of the skills and talents of all individuals, including people with disabilities.

We were proud to celebrate DEAM 2017 by partnering with Alberta Community and Social Services, The City of Calgary, Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion, Calgary Economic Development, Mount Royal University, Bow Valley College, and Picture This Film Festival.

DEAM 2016 featured a wide range of exciting events that would not have been possible without the support of this year’s partners. We would like to applaud Alberta Human Services, Mount Royal University, Bow Valley College, The City of Calgary, Calgary Economic Development, Picture This Film Festival, and the Calgary Chamber of Commerce for their dedication to inclusive employment.
