Issue |
Health Canada has determined that the use of these restraints in a motor vehicle could increase the risk of injury in the event of a collision.
These products do not display Transport Canada’s National Safety Mark and therefore have not been certified to meet the safety requirements of the Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems and Booster Seats Safety Regulations.
The use of these restraints in a motor vehicle would be considered illegal under provincial and territorial highway regulations.
What you should do |
Consumers who have the affected product should immediately stop using it and safely dispose of it in such a way that it cannot be used again.
Regularly check the Healthy Canadians Recalls and Safety Alerts database for dangerous products and take action to remove items of concern.
Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of these products or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.

The product has been removed from sale online from the Amazon.ca website. Health Canada has contacted the foreign third-party sellers and is advising consumers to immediately stop using the affected child safety seats.
Amazon reported that 99 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.
To date, no incidents or injuries related to this product have been reported to Health Canada.
