The Calgary Protocol for bracing of Pectus carinatum was pioneered by Dr. David L. Sigalet, Pediatric General Surgeon, Alberta Children’s Hospital. Surgeons continuing to practice the Calgary Protocol include Dr. Steven Lopushinsky and Dr. Mary Brindle.
Pediatric Surgery Clinic at Alberta Children’s Hospital provides assessment, diagnoses, and treatment services including child and parent education, follow-up and support to the child/family with long-term surgical problems.
This clinic sees children who have been referred for General surgery.
This service provides assessment, diagnoses, and treatment services including:
- child and parent education
- follow-up and support to the child/family with long-term surgical problems
- follow-up management for children who have ostomies
- follow-up management for children who have gastrostomy tubes
